About Our Firm

After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1982, Scott began his career in Fort Worth. He became a partner in a firm in 1989, and remained there as quality control director until 2012. At that time, Scott decided to follow his dream and start his own firm. He wanted to have a firm that was founded on integrity, expertise, reliability and personal attention to clients, and he believes he has that with Siegmund & Ekstrand, LLC.

Siegmund & Ekstrand, LLC is a full practice firm that provides audit services, reviews and compilations, tax services, estate planning services, and an array of other services that help individuals and businesses plan for their future.

Scott has experience in audits of governmental entities, manufacturing and construction companies, restaurants, and nonprofit organizations. He also provides tax services for individuals and companies. Because of his experience and great relationships with his clients, Scott has been fortunate to see his clients grow and prosper.

Scott believes in communication and planning with his clients He believes that his firm should be a valuable financial and tax resource for his clients.

Scott is married to Melinda and lives in Aledo. They have grown children. In their spare time, Scott and Melinda like to relax on their small farm in Aledo. They enjoy spending time there raising cattle, riding four wheelers and fishing.

Maria has a Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in Accounting from the University of North Texas. She began her career as an accountant in Dallas in 1994. As a CPA, Maria has experience in a wide variety of accounting areas such as tax planning, auditing of financial statements and tax filings for individuals, partnerships, corporations and non-profit organizations.

Maria enjoys providing tax planning and business consulting for individuals and small to mid-sized businesses. Maria truly finds satisfaction in helping companies and individuals succeed by providing advice in their day to day accounting questions, year-end tax plannings, and continuing business and personal planning.

Maria grew up on a ranch in Sebastian County, Arkansas. She is married and has one son and lives in Fort Worth. She enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities including hiking and skiing. Her favorite pastime is watching her son play sports.

Ashley grew up in Wise County and graduated from Sam Houston State University with her Master of Business Administration in 2011. She has been in public accounting since 2016 and has experience working with individual and business entities for all their tax consulting, planning, and tax preparation needs.

Ashley currently lives in Decatur with her husband and two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family and watching her sons play sports.
